How do I book and pay?

You can book directly with us by sending us an email, or alternatively, find us on Airbnb or Homeaway/VRBO. If booking direct, we are only able to accept payment by bank transfer.

What are the booking terms?

When you book , we ask for a deposit of 30%, with the balance to be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to your arrival. Should you need to cancel your booking more than 6 weeks prior to your arrival, we will retain the initial deposit and refund any other monies you have paid. Should you cancel later than 6 weeks prior to your arrival we reserve the right to retain both the deposit and the balance of the rental fee. However, in both these circumstances, if we are able to find another to guest to take on your rental, we will refund you in full, less any costs incurred. All guests are required to sign a contract upon booking.

When can I arrive?

We ask guests not to come to the Villa before 4pm on their day of arrival so that we have time to fully clean and prepare the rooms. If you will be arriving after 7pm, please let us know. At the end of your stay, we ask that you vacate the Villa by 10.30am. If these times do not fit with your travel plans please let us know and we will do our best to be flexible, if possible.

Do you accept pets?

I’m sorry but we don’t accept pets. If you want to bring your beloved pooch we know of a local dog-sitter but unfortunately animals are not allowed in the Villa.

Where are the nearest amenities?

Our nearest cafe is the Plaza Cafe in Novello (a short drive or a hilly walk). There are several to choose from in La Morra and Barolo (both a short drive).

Our closest restaurant is Buon Padre in Vergne. It is a two minute drive or a 15 minute walk. We don’t advise walking in the evenings as there are no street lights. Within a five minute drive you can reach dozens of fantastic restaurants.

The closest large supermarket is in Gallo, about a 15 minute drive from the Villa, though there is a small grocery store in Novello and a slightly larger one in La Morra.

Can I just rent one room?

No. We only rent out the entire Villa. Of course, it is up to you how many people stay, up to a maximum of 12, but we are not permitted to rent rooms out separately.

Do I need to book wine tastings?

Yes. If you have specific wineries in mind it is best to book them as far in advance as possible, particularly if they are well-known.

Is the house child friendly?

We have two cots and two high chairs for children to use. There is also a selection of toys and games in the house, along with a selection of children’s DVDs. We have a fence around the pool, but swimming pools obviously carry an inherent risk, so you will need to remain alert at all times with children in the house.

Am I right that you live next door?

Yes, that’s correct. We live in another part of the same Cascina, though the two properties are separated by a large hedge so you have complete privacy at all times.

How is 'Villa Ribota' classified?

The property is rented as a ‘Locazione Turistica’ (Art. 4 – DL 50/2017 convertito con Legge n. 96/2017), which is effectively a private rental. Under the terms of the law only private individuals are permitted to rent the property for tourism purpoeses, and no ‘extra services’, such as meals, cleaning during your stay, car rentals etc are permitted.
